CCTV Treasure Hunt
A collaborative project with artist Laura Maragoudaki, the CCTV Treasure Hunt is an urban game that invites people to consider notions of public and private space through the act of exploring and documenting the city’s network of surveillance cameras.
Bringing a physical dimension to the experience of being watched, participants engage in an act of counter surveillance using everyday accessible media tools. Encouraging people to explore and traverse the city outside of regular routes and patterns, the project connects the physical experience of wandering the city with debate around the role of CCTV and other pervasive surveillance technologies.
The game featured at Bristol Live Open Platform, Design Event 09, Radiator Festival, and The Uses of Intelligence where the project included the development of an interactive video installation.
